This things
makes us feel seductive, it makes you feel feminine. For women, in short it
makes you feel the complete woman. It also does a lot to our confidence. Its
addictive effect made people stay around for as long as they could, take deep
breaths, fantasizing, dreaming. Actually these things do a lot more to you -
and believe me - it isn't all pleasant. There is another side of these things
that seduces - it also hurts - and hurts badly.
What am I
talking about? It was actually a perfume and today I am here would
like to tell you guys about the negative effects of perfume that affect people
life. Frankly speaking, I was the person
that perceives people who smell good differently, I respect them more, and I
see them in a better light. But, it seems hard to believe that something that
smells so good can be so harmful to your and others around you. I know most of
you will not believe this; I did too, until I started researching about this. Among the negative
effects of perfumes that are Allergies, Central Nervous System
Disorders AND lastly Environmental Dangers that slowly affect our daily life.
1. Allergies
Perfumes exposed people to allergies. Perfumes have contributed to a type of
allergy known as chemical sensitivity to fragrances and give several illnesses
to the patient. Among the illness suffered by the patient was severe migraines
and it usually last for 6 to 7 hours. Next, the patient may suffer from allergy
symptoms. This will happen when allergic person becomes exposed to an allergen
- protein particle ingested, inhaled, absorbed or injected that triggers a
reaction. The immune system then overreacts causing sneezing, nasal itching,
chest tightness and wheezing.
2. Central Nervous System Disorder
Most
frighteningly, perfumes are known to affect the brain and central nervous
system as well. Research has proved that there is a close connection between
memory and scent. Many of the ingredients in fragrances are neurotoxins,
meaning that they have poisonous effects on
the brain and nervous system. Hence it is an acknowledged fact that chemical fragrances affect the brain tissue.
Central nervous system disorders can result from some of the chemicals included
in fragrances. Some of the ingredients like benzene derivatives can also potentially cause birth defects and
cancer, according to the report published on EcoMall.
3. Environmental Dangers
Lastly, perfumes or fragrances can lead to environmental dangers. The chemicals
associated with fragrances in household and beauty products are potentially
dangerous for the planet. This had been proved by Christian Science Monitor
through a research conducted in Stanford University. The study claims that the
cells of mussels that absorb the dye used in fragrances and human beings are
similar; thus the potential danger to people might be significant. Also, sewage
treatments do not remove the chemicals associated with fragrances from bodies
of water throughout the world. Countries such as Japan have banned certain chemicals used in fragrances from being
used to produce beauty and fragrance items.
Today
we have seen that perfume can potentially cause serious bodily harm, even
though it gives sweet odors to us.
Shakespeare claimed: “that which we call a rose by any other name would
smell as sweet.” Thanks to today’s chemical industry, that is no longer
true. Worse than that, the potential health effects are anything but
sweet.
